Humphrey Munson designs and manufactures the finest kitchens and cabinetry from their workshop in Felsted, where the traditional joinery of the past meets the technical innovation of the present. They were unhappy with their current, unwieldy set-up of a main website alongside a separate site for their flooring. They wanted a consolidated site to showcase their specialism as a truly bespoke design service that goes beyond kitchens. This is where eighteen73 came in: to create an elegant website showcasing HM’s full capabilities without overwhelming the customer and with a superior ecommerce element.
Our process
The key to this project’s success was in the planning. We spent a lot of time working with HM on the site’s information architecture, considering the different customers, their needs, and the user journey. HM has a large, detailed portfolio, and we wanted their customers to be able to navigate their many projects in a way that made sense.
Not just kitchens…
Another key feature for the website was making it interactive as a way to present HM’s full portfolio and show that they don’t just do kitchens but entire schemes. We enabled customers to filter projects by rooms, giving them inspiration for every room in their homes and also a seamless way to place customisable orders.
The clever stuff
A big concern for HM was that the integration of the two sites wouldn’t affect their SEO ranking. We managed to avoid this by creating some complex redirects and mapping while also improving their ranking achieved by including the cost and availability of each product on Google search results.
The site offers a slick and elegant customer experience with our custom-built WordPress Block Editor and our media server Delivr, developed in-house to optimise images for speedy loading without losing quality. This allowed the site to go big on imagery resulting in a big impact website with great user experience and top SEO ranking.
