MD & Creative Director

eighteen73’s co-founder, Helen is an unstoppable driving force. Full of energy, strategic vision and creative ideas, she’s a marketeer through and through. She steers clients, helping them to aim higher, whilst always acting as an advocate for the customer. Her collaborative ethos lies at the heart of eighteen73, creating a stimulating atmosphere for our team and clients alike. And she is committed to ensuring eighteen73 makes a real difference, especially when it comes to  environmental impact.

Technical Director

On track to be a mechanical engineer, Ed was lured to switch to a Computer Science degree. This was back in the days of dial-up and he’s been fully immersed in all things web ever since. Coding websites and web apps is his first passion and he has been instrumental in growing our web development service. He advises on the technologies we adopt and the ways they are applied to our clients’ projects to ensure performance and longevity. A problem-solver at heart, we always know we can overcome any technical challenges if we  ‘Ask Ed!’.

Creative Lead

It’s no exaggeration to say that Amy lives and breathes brands. She loves working closely with customers to dig into the essence of their brands and is highly skilled at translating concepts into beautiful, lasting designs. She has enduring relationships with a number of key clients, acting as their appointed brand guardian to make sure all their collateral stays perfectly on point. Leading on editorial design for the agency, Amy is also a genius when it comes to typography.  In other news, she’s a key instigator of our cake obsession.

Head of Digital Performance

With a background managing the marketing departments at several companies, Alex understands precisely how digital fits into the full marketing mix and is brimming with creative multi-channel ideas. Whilst he has a fully-fledged passion for all things data-driven, he is far from your average techie nerd. This is thanks to his innate ability to see the wood for the trees. He combines an easy-going manner with a skill for sharp analysis, never feeling the urge to bog clients down with unnecessary jargon. Always abreast of the latest digital marketing trends, Alex is constantly in pursuit of innovative ways to help our clients thrive online.

Marketing & Strategy Lead

We got to know Elizabeth rather well as a client before tempting her to join our gang. She has worked in marketing for too many years to mention, including a long stint in London. At eighteen73, she supports clients at both ends of the spectrum, from high level counsel to leading on practical implementation. She’s our resident wordsmith and can also be counted on to facilitate an insightful workshop. Her experience ranges from destination marketing, the arts, museums and charities, through to managing consortiums and public consultation.

UX & Technical Delivery Lead

With a career that has beautifully blended both web design and front-end development roles, Dom is your man when it comes to user experience. Passionate about inclusive design, he’s also au fait with what’s happening under the bonnet of even the most complex sites. He brings to eighteen73 skills gained across a wide-ranging career, spanning agency and freelance roles, plus eight years at the helm of his own consultancy. Empathetic, collaborative and technically minded, he ensures our websites perform brilliantly for all users. A midlands boy at heart (sojourns in Sussex notwithstanding) he has an unwavering devotion to Wolverhampton Wanderers and possesses the strongest sea legs on the team thanks to his time spent as a navigator for the RNLI. 

Laravel & Integrations Lead

It’s impossible to fluster Matt, we know as we’ve tried! Super technical, Matt knows his way around all key platforms, including WordPress, Laravel and Drupal. Basically, whatever you need your site to do, Matt can make it happen. Aside from whipping up complex new code at an impressive pace, he’s skilled at managing integrations and also looks after our servers. Together with Ed he keeps on top of the latest trends to ensure we’re always playing our best game.

Studio Manager

Often the first port of call if you phone in, Laura is our unofficial oracle who knows exactly what’s on the studio schedule week by week. She ensures jobs are quoted and that deadlines are met, keeping everything just tickety-boo for clients and team alike.  She’s also our in-house timesheet whizz and chief of invoicing. Her experience includes stints in photography, product packaging and project management, equipping her with both the creative understanding and organisational skills to keep us all on the straight and narrow (but always in the nicest possible way).

Digital Designer

Louis is a people-first kind of person, creating digital experiences which are fully user-centred. Always on top of the latest design and user experience trends, he drives forward our web design capabilities, creating intuitive solutions and seamless customer journeys. He also brings to the party a stack of client experience gained across agency, freelance and in-house roles, including an international destination brand. Meanwhile, his strong interest in marketing is an added bonus as are his karaoke skills.

Creative Designer & Illustrator

A degree in Graphic design & Illustration has landed Rosalie a job in, well, graphic design & illustration! Skilled in typography and colour, she adapts her illustrative style to fit the client brief. Rosalie is our go to for everything from illustrated maps and book covers to packaging. She also often adds that extra special touch to branding projects. We all know that pictures speak a thousand words and Rosalie can be relied upon to visualise anything from a concept to a capital development.

Head of WordPress

Our WordPress guru, Brett, leads the team on website builds. He has been developing on the platform since 2009, building up an extensive portfolio, including more then fifty e-commerce sites for the likes of Chase and Radnor Hills Mineral Water. With a background in graphic design, Brett has an excellent eye for visual detail and a passion for accessibility. He is also talented at sharing his CMS skills with client teams, thanks to his easygoing, approachable manner.

Apprentice Developer

With a degree in illustration already under her belt, Margaret has taken the leap to pursue a passion for coding. She has already successfully completed coding and backend development courses and is now putting these skills into practice as our Apprentice Developer. The position with eighteen73 appealed, thanks to the opportunities for professional progression and personal growth. She is working closely with our developers, establishing herself as a fast learner and keen team player.

Drupal Lead

For pixel perfection, Daf is your man. Starting out as a graphic designer before moving into coding, he has a full appreciation of both visual front-end and technical back-end development. Crafting sites which are loved by our clients and their customers in equal measure, Daf is skilled in both WordPress and Drupal. He also has plenty of experience with integrations so you your always in very safe hands.

Web Project Manager

Zoe is a shot of sunshine, always bringing a winning smile to the studio. She guides clients through the content planning phases, combining in-depth understanding of the business objectives with a user-centred perspective to create sitemaps and wireframes that work.  She then calmly coordinates everything behind the scenes to ensure client projects launch on time.

Designer

Our typesetting master, Peter takes care of type and layout on everything from books and annual reviews to magazine adverts. His skills are such that he has a roll-call of regular clients who count on him. Focused purely on print, Peter is practically-minded with the skills to perfectly spec out 3D packaging as well as ensure our designs make the most economical use of paper. He’s also our in-house expert on large-format printing, including exhibition stands, banners and boards.

WordPress Developer

Dan brings extensive knowledge of the WordPress platform and React, having worked agency-side for ten years for a diverse range of clients as well as a SaaS product. He works closely with our Head of WordPress to constantly push the boundaries and extend our offer to clients. Dan’s a keen learner, always striving to advance his know-how and ensure we are up to speed with the latest developments. He prides himself on producing high quality work and has even scooped a Web Excellence Award for one of his builds.

WordPress Developer

Vikki started her career with eighteen73 on an apprenticeship, after deciding to make the move from customer service to coding. She’s brave like that. Super organised and guaranteed to get things done, Vikki loves solving problems. And clients certainly keep us topped up with creative coding challenges as well as support queries. Initially focused purely on WordPress, she’s now branching out into Laravel. A poster girl for career u-turns.

Digital Marketing & IT

With 20 years experience across digital marketing and IT, Stephen specialises in search engine optimisation & management, website optimisation and user experience. A key member of our digital marketing team, he manages Google Ad campaigns and analyses website performance, identifying areas for ongoing improvement. Behind the scenes, he helps ensure new websites launch smoothly by running advance checks and testing as well as post-launch monitoring.

Laravel Developer

With a background in maths and physics, it comes as no surprise that Thomas loves solving complex problems. He also has a passion for learning new technologies which means he fits beautifully into our coding team. With stacks of experience at transforming designs into elegantly functioning websites, Thomas is a very safe pair of hands on any project.

Website Support Administrator

With a commitment to organisation to rival Marie Kondo, April looks after website support for our clients. She is the point of contact for website queries, updates and fixes, responsible for ensuring each job is scheduled with our team of developers and completed on time. April has a wide-ranging professional background spanning WordPress website management, digital marketing and graphic design making her the perfect fit for eighteen73.

Accounts Manager

A member of the eighteen73 team for many a moon, Jane is on first-name terms with our long-standing clients. She ensures payments are timely – we promise, she will chase if you are late – but who would want to upset lovely Jane?
